No. You will never be charged more than the natural gas commodity price specified in your agreement with us. There is no cost to enrol in Customer Choice, and there are no new or added FortisBC charges that apply when you participate in Customer Choice.

FortisBC will continue to bill you as usual. Buy Low Gas will be identified on your FortisBC bill as your commodity provider. You will continue to make payments to FortisBC and will still be able to take advantage of their various payment options.

We cannot guarantee savings. You will save money when FortisBC’s default rate is above your guaranteed Buy Low Gas rate.

We’ve worked hard to make the sign-up process as quick and efficient as possible. Once your agreement is verified, we will typically start flow within 60 days. If you are currently enrolled with another supplier, we will enrol your account at the end of your existing agreement to ensure you do not have to pay any early exit fees to your current supplier. We’ll handle everything, and you’ll receive a confirmation letter from FortisBC that will confirm your enrolment and start date.

No. We will take care of everything to ensure a smooth transition. Your natural gas service will not be impacted during the enrolment process.

No. We’ll liaise directly with FortisBC. Once the agreement is verified, you’ll receive a confirmation letter from FortisBC confirming your enrolment and advising you of your start date.

For commercial customers: If your move is within FortisBC’s service territory, we can often transfer your energy agreement to your new location. However, the agreement will need to be amended to reflect the particulars of the new location. We ask that you provide Buy Low Gas with at least 60 days’ notice prior to your move. This gives us time to accommodate your move, issue a replacement agreement and coordinate to ensure no disruption in service.

Following your enrolment, you have 10 days to cancel without penalty. After the 10-day cancellation period, and depending on the circumstances, early exit fees may apply if your agreement is terminated prior to its end date.

Prior to the expiry of your agreement, we will provide you with an offer to renew your Buy Low Gas agreement for an additional term. If you do not renew, your account will automatically return to FortisBC’s default gas rate on your agreement’s end date.

FortisBC remains responsible for emergency service, metering, repairs and maintenance. The costs of these services are included in the rates charged by FortisBC for distributing the gas. No. The guaranteed rate only applies to the natural gas commodity or “cost of gas” which is the most volatile portion of your bill. Other charges like the basic charge, delivery charge and storage and transportation charge are reviewed annually and increase mainly due to price inflation.

Your gas charges include commodity and delivery charges. The cost of gas line item on your natural gas bill is the only line item that can be guaranteed for five years. FortisBC is the default Utility. If you would like to know your current commercial rates, visit their website at:

No problem! Our platform will be able to process multi-site requests. Simply click “add site” and include the service location, account and point of delivery found on your FortisBC Invoice and you’ll be able to include all your locations in one agreement.
